Cookie Policy
Skylance sets no advertising or tracking cookies. This page explains the few strictly-necessary cookies that keep the site working and secure.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website can store in your browser. Similar technologies — such as localStorage — let a site keep small amounts of data on your device. They can be “strictly necessary” (required for the site to function) or used for analytics, personalisation, or advertising.
This policy explains what Skylance uses, and works alongside our Privacy Policy.
2. Our approach
We keep this deliberately minimal. Skylance sets no advertising, analytics, or behavioural-tracking cookies. The only storage we write ourselves is a single key that remembers your response to the cookie notice, so we do not ask again on every visit.
3. Cookies and storage we use
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| sl_cookie_consent | Skylance (localStorage) | Remembers your response to the cookie notice | Until you clear browser storage |
| __cf_bm | Cloudflare | Bot management — distinguishes humans from automated traffic | Session (≈30 minutes) |
| cf_clearance / Turnstile token | Cloudflare Turnstile | Verifies your interaction with the contact form to block spam | Short-lived |
| Google Fonts | Delivers web fonts; Google states fonts alone set no persistent advertising cookie | None persistent for fonts |
These are strictly necessary to deliver and secure the site. Blocking Cloudflare’s cookies may affect site functionality, including the contact form.
4. What we do not use
We do not use Google Analytics, Meta/Facebook Pixel, LinkedIn Insight, advertising or retargeting tags, or any cross-site tracking. If that ever changes, we will update this policy and request consent before any non-essential cookie is set.
5. Managing cookies
You are always in control. You can clear or block cookies and local storage through your browser settings:
- Chrome — Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Safari — Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Firefox — Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Edge — Settings → Cookies and site permissions
Clearing the sl_cookie_consent key will cause the cookie notice to appear again on your next visit.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will note the new effective date at the top of the page.
